| I work in Cavendish Square Claremont and orders lunch on certain days from Passage To India who is now called Gourmet India. Now for the month of Ramadaan I order from them to break fast . Well I must say the service there sucks. I phoned to place an order and the lady tells me to call back after 5 mins as she has a customer in front of her and she too busy to take my order. How pathetic is that. My name is Nazeelah and my contact No is 078 729 2302 if the owner would like to contact me. | |
| Bought 2 x hake and chips from you muizenburg shop, the fish was over cooked, or cooked too long, tough and un-eatable. so no lunch today. 15 Jan 2015.

| AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | |
.JPG) | The food is good, but the service is dreadful. The food came 45
minutes late because the waiter who took our order forgot about our
table. The customers who had arrived after us had already received
their food and had finished eating. This may have been understandable
as the restaurant was busy. However, the worst part of the experience
was that the waiter who admitted he had forgotten our order did not
even apologise AND had an attitude problem. For example: Whilst
telling him we are not satisfied with the long delay. He interrupting
abruptly, and then said, "I was only asking about the food." He then
rolled his eyes in front of us.He only apologised when we demanded an
apology from him in front of the owner.

| Had a pleasant time at Takis! Had ice cold bears like is advertised! The burger was presented good, service was good. Cant complain for R69 getting a burger, chips and salad in Franschhoek! Pleasant vibe sitting outside! | |
| Had the R95 buffet tonight, didn't know that it was a pre selected bunch of sushi, should be mentioned on the paper. I guess the catch is filling up on things you might not necessarily order usually(And it wasnt boring like avo or crabstick). I dont enjoy those slices of raw fish, but I ate everything on my plate anyhow. Couldnt finish 4 pieces of the 8 of tempura prawn that I ordered(free)after the buffet and I usually eat loads of Sushi. They are big pieces, the fish flesh isn't minimal like best of asia. The wasabi and ginger is generous and i love it to burn so I can smell the roses from a mile away, and it did this! Thumbs up for that.
Compared to other prices in the Western Cape it's a bargain for your buck, seems to be run by friendly family? The service could be worked on with keeping up with the patrons requests for more drinks to help the sushi go down. I will be returning again most certainly. I recommend sitting inside so you dont get bothered with beggers passing by outside in the street... Noticed it happen twice to a table outside. Comes with the territory.
The inside was nice and pleasant, a big screen on the wall, with a goldfish tank on the counter buffed up the feeling of the place. I realy cant complain about spending R150 on 2 beers and a sushi buffet and an extra plate of tempura prawn california roll.

| Been there on Sunday for the first time. All I can say is that was the
best food and serves I received in a very long time
| Tasty inexpensive dishes, but sticking to take-away as the restaurant
always looks cold and uninviting.
Though have to repeat, the food is great!
| what a amazing and pleasant restaurant.family owned and run. food is still as good as ever. eat there atleast once a week . luigis would be proud . boun apetito | |
| Wow! Although hectically busy over lunch time, one still receives food
and drink in a reasonable time, with management and staff checking up on
you to ensure you are not waiting too long. But I would wait for those
divine smoothies and wraps any day. Great place - if you go often
enough they remember your name and your favourites. Always fresh,
always tasty, always healthy and always friendly! Five stars to this
outlet. | |
| As of most of these places the restaurant lacks atmosphere but the food
is great and cheap. You get more than value for your money and the staff
is great. Service is not bad either. We get sushi there every Monday
evening! | |
| Great common sense here. Wish I'd toghhut of that. | |
| it is a bad restaurant, horrible management, staff, food and service | |
| what a amazin place . such a great vibe , friendly and family orientated. luigi has gone but any one knowing the family would know they are doin a great job . keep it up.had b day there and food and waitors were excelent . ***** | |
| tried to get a booking at this place for so so long, then chanced it on a friday afternoon and they said yeah no problemo, either the in crowd have left town or have moved onto elsewhere... it was very very hot inside but the food was top notch.. they still have the madame zingara choc chili steak which isn't on the menu, for some reason it' a special, and the mushroom risotto was what mushrooms were made for, not too expensive, a meal for 5 and a bottle of wine came to 500 bux. | |
| This place has had a facelift, the food is not as good as i remember but its still not bad. They now have a full dim sum menu with some that will make you run for the hills as they are TRUE chinese dishes, but they still have a good selection of dim sum standards such as leek pancakes and potstickers. open till 3am 7 days a week!. | |
.JPG) | dunno what these other cats are on about, if you avoid the chicken dishes coz they are always full of bones then you really can't go wrong at chef pons, beef with mushroom and ginger is a winner, so too is the crispy duck.
| Ate here once a long time ago, had a mixed platter i think which wasn't bad and the mousaka which was def the pick of the bunch, don't remember much else, the tzatziki was usual runny stuff you get in most places in the cape, the closest to a true greek effort is at aris souvlaki in sea point. | |
| Bad, seriously BAD. The souvlaki was a tough sosatie that had been
dipped in cheap bought barbecue sauce. Chips were cardboard. Salad
dressing a shocker. Moussaka was marginally better, but not presentable
in a restaurant at that price.
| had some great cocktails | |
.JPG) | This place was bad all the people were rude waited way too long for a sandwich
Or maybe its because I'm not white that the service was so bad
| A real authentic little italian place! Fresh ingredients, happy staff and nice wine list.
Def the best pizza in town, but all the food we taste was just beatiful.
Try it! | |
| The cruise was above and beyond all expectations. I have run out of superlative adjectives to describe the food, the experience and above all, the attentiveness and caring that we received. | |
| if plastic chairs in a room that could be used for anything other than a restaurant you have landed in heaven, food is ok but far too expensive for this gaff | |
| keep meaning to eat here but the menu puts me off, no prices just stars next to an already confusing set up which are colour coded and mixed from which you have to guess at how much the shafting is gonna cost you, or is that just a deternet to keep away the riff raff? if you didnt pass maths you're in for it. | |
| best pizza errrm no.. best high prices errrm yes | |
| best pizza in town so far!, the four cheese is delicious!, had some pastas here, the sauce has been too sweet on occasion, maybe thats just me :) .. but the pizza is on song!, good wine at good prices, 80 bux a bottle of leopards leap. | |
| bestest cock n tail in the land! far superior to the food | |
| not bad at all! | |
| just plain rude | |
| most friendly place in town! | |
| this place has had a moved to sea point next to nandos, new digs same shite music | |
.JPG) | everything is great here apart from some of the chicken dishes, for some reason, perhaps a thai custom, they use the breast chopped up while still attached to the bones, makes for a not so pleasant which otherwise would be great dish, prawns a very good, so too is the beef with mushroom and ginger.
| the kinda place you think you never would eat in coz its just so basic and nobody is ever in there, that said the dim sum was the best in town, hard to come by in the cape all the dishes were to notch, dumplings, pot stickers, spring onion pancakes, pork buns.. all yum! | |
| a bit hit and miss, this review is the the upstairs more fancy restaurant at quay4. The setting isnt bad, it lacks a little love and layout cordination, fresh looking painted white with views across the waterfront. The service was very good, the food leans more to the miss side of things to be honest, the prawn tempura very good, almost like a chinese dish, the calamari in orange chilli butter is not what one would expect, more of an average attempt at a gloopy sweet n sour sauce. The fillet steak was good, but a stinger at 120bux and extra for sauce!, the salad looked a bit tired and sorry, kingklip over grilled and tough. At similar prices to bahia, you would do just as well to head therefor one of the best meals in town. | |
| as good as the rest of the col cacchio clan, it is perched on the strip above kaui. it lacks the trattoria ambience that make the one down town so refreshing, this one is low ceiling basic modern, probably the best pizza in camps bay, but i'm not certain as i have only ever been to dizzys where it is very standard issue. | |
| wasn't bad, the lasagne is HUGE, too heavy handed for such a old skool joint, had about a kilo of cheese in it and no bechamel. the tapas are reasonably priced but a bit so so. | |
| wanna be treated like a tourist, this is the place for you, i've been going here for years bearing a foreign accent, but it looks like the greed has got the better of the management. It's a VERY petty scenario but it's so pathetic it's worth publishing, coz you gotta be NUTS to be so short sighted running an establishment with a pedigree such as the chapmans peak hotel in such a way. Here goes...You buy a bag of nuts at the bar, at a tourist price of 26 bux! that's correct! cashews are now trading at an equal price to piemonte truffles. Fair enough, your accent doesn't fit the bill so it's ok to pull you pants down, we don't mind, we got cash. However, you make a genuine mistake, the person you purchased them for is allergic, so you take them back to the surly bar witch who you just tipped generously and explain as so, unopened as they were, you expect to swap them or refund them or put the cost against the next wine for which they cost the same amount. eeeerrrrmm?? .. mmmm!.. NO!, you have paid for them, nothing can be done, transactions cannot be reversed. It appears at this stage that the chapmans peak has been sold out of date technology for the cash register network. You are unsure as to whether this is plain snotty, surly or odd, so when you head to your table to have a meal you kindly point out to the manager that you will be eating dinner, and could he refund the 'diamond priced' nuts or deduct them from the bill. eeerrrrmm?? .. mmmm!.. NO!, you have paid for them, nothing can be done, transactions cannot be reversed. You reiterate, that you are about to be spending a probably 300bux on dinner, just in case they weren't sure that they were about to lose custom, to which you are replied, 'yes i know, but you have paid for them, so no'. YES its nuts, its petty, but its not on, especially at the CHAPMANS PEAK HOTEL. Sort out you staff, it seems like the rot spills down from the top, off hand managment, off hand greeting, off hand bar staff. Do you think that treating long standing paying customers in such a petulant take it or leave it manner will have them coming back to haul you butts through the long quiet winter after you have chewed up n spat out the FIFA tourists. THINK AGAIN! see you in a 3 years (maybe) ciao ciao. The price of pettiness | | This restaurant is always busy, I like to sit here on a summer night and enjoy the good food. Their pizza is very good, it is extremely thin!, but that is how i like it. I agree about the tiramisu, it is to die for!. The drinks are a little expensive, it's not the cheap eat it used to be a few years ago. I think inflation has caught up with them, but its still doesn't stop the the bums reaching the seats. | .JPG) | the prawn tempura is soooo good here and such a bargain. Only R28 for for compared to other places across town who charge R40 min. The crispy aromatic duck is wonderful and again not too expensive. I think this place is much better than asian kitchen ever was when chef pon was there. I like to go during the week after catching a flick at the labia, the perfect end to any movie, good or bad. |
