The food is good, but the service is dreadful. The food came 45 minutes late because the waiter who took our order forgot about our table. The customers who had arrived after us had already received their food and had finished eating. This may have been understandable as the restaurant was busy. However, the worst part of the experience was that the waiter who admitted he had forgotten our order did not even apologise AND had an attitude problem. For example: Whilst telling him we are not satisfied with the long delay. He interrupting abruptly, and then said, "I was only asking about the food." He then rolled his eyes in front of us.He only apologised when we demanded an apology from him in front of the owner.

dunno what these other cats are on about, if you avoid the chicken dishes coz they are always full of bones then you really can't go wrong at chef pons, beef with mushroom and ginger is a winner, so too is the crispy duck.

We took our friends over from Italy to Sawadee last week Monday. The restaurant was busy for a Monday night and we thought great this place is popular, the food must be great! We started off with Sushi - it was really good. We were all craving Thai food so decided to have Thai for our main course. Not everyone was entirely happy with their meal but that was not the annoying part if our meal. The service so so bad that it mad evening somewhat unpleasant. When taking our order our waiter seemed harassed and rushed. Obviously he either had too many tables to handle or could just not deal with his section. He managed to get my husbands order wrong. Nobody came to ask us if everything was okay with our meal. After we all had finished our plates were left waiting for someone to clear them, this took ages. After they were half cleared our waiter was off again attending to other things. In this time the manager walked past and saw that we had dirty plates on our table and just continued to walk by. Managers of restaurants need to come back down to earth and if their waiters are busy they need to help out a bit. Glasses empty and waiting for someone to take our drinks order we decided to rather get the bill and leave.... Such a pity as we were really looking forward to some great Thai food having just been over to Thailand 4 weeks ago.

They told us the food didnt have fish sauce. We trusted them. Started having allergy halfway through meal. They admitted there was fish sauce. Felt it was a bit inconciderate and then they weren't very apologetic

everything is great here apart from some of the chicken dishes, for some reason, perhaps a thai custom, they use the breast chopped up while still attached to the bones, makes for a not so pleasant which otherwise would be great dish, prawns a very good, so too is the beef with mushroom and ginger.

the prawn tempura is soooo good here and such a bargain. Only R28 for for compared to other places across town who charge R40 min. The crispy aromatic duck is wonderful and again not too expensive. I think this place is much better than asian kitchen ever was when chef pon was there. I like to go during the week after catching a flick at the labia, the perfect end to any movie, good or bad.

chef pons new lair!, the cooking is better than it used to be at the asian kitchen, the prices are spot on, no reason to feel robbed at the end of the evening especially with the size of the portions. Pon is always at the helm to keep the show first rate. It has a shaky period but now it's one of the best asian eats in town. The setting is nothing to coo over but the food certainly makes up for it.
