such a nice wine farm close to town with some of the best wines in the cape and two great restaurants. start at the gate, try all the wines for 50bux (they throw in a groot constantia wine glass for keeps).. the merlot is excellent and so is semillon/sauvignon blanc.. get a little tipsy then soak it up in either jonkershuis or simons, both a great value, full of atmosphere and character. they have rose bushes lining the lanes which fill the air in the evening.. you can easily spend the whole...

If you’re gonna pay top dollar for a liquor mix it had better be good and the bartender had better give it plenty of love. Cocktails can be a traumatic experience, so often seduced by the names on the menu and the yummy yum yum list of concoctions, we then find ourselves planted with a glass of alcoholic bath water sipping through the sweetness because the bux burn have left us feeling sour. There are a couple of places in cape town where the captain can assure you of everything bar the Hawaiian scene these cocktails will leave you longing for. These little gems do not dish mojitos as if the price of mint were equal to that of saffron or pinacoladas you can see your hand through, they will however leave you feeling…very happy!! … first stop.. pepenero in mouille point, they have bargain beauties at R21.. the rest of the menu hovers between R30 - R45.. next is the winchester mansions hotel bar priced from R30 and up. Finally our cape cocktail ruler is kitima in hout bay, take your reading glasses because the menu is biblical in length, i can only hope that life grants enough dining days to sample their full range of cocktails.. dying at the mercy of their bartender would make me equally happy.. cocktails die for.
